New Blind Sports Australia Website Blind Sports Australia Launches New Website Blind Sports Australia is pleased to launch their new website, which will have a significant focus on providing information for people on how they can get active and involved in a variety of different sports. We have worked hard over the past year to develop a site that is accessible for everyone, has important information on what sports are available in Australia and the pathways available for people to get involved in those sports. We also wanted to provide information on how the sports are played, equipment, rules, contact information and where possible images, vision or explanations of the sports, from those who take part in the sports. Thanks to the support of State Trustees Australia Foundation, we were able to develop this platform and make it a resource that can be used by a wide variety of people. We hope that people with a Vision Impairment can come to the site and find the key information that they need to feel empowered to get involved and active in sport. We want organisations such as Vision Australia to be able to use this information to refer those that they support, towards recreational and active pursuits. We want families, friends and the general public to be able to come to the site and understand more about what Blind Sports look like and promote the abilities of our athletes in Sport, whether that be at a participatory level or involved in elite level activity, such as at a Paralympic Games, Commonwealth Games or on an International Stage. Through this portal, we will provide regular information about various events, competitions, come and try sessions and news that is happening at a local, state, national or international level. We also provide information on what the classification process for involvement in some sports involves and where classification is required. Blind Sports Australia will continue to work on creating new and relevant content, which we hope will be delivered in an accessible and easy to digest format for all visitors to our site.
